Help Us Improve
The Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Program
Project title
Organizational and technological innovations for the deployment of patient-oriented best practices: Early Supported Discharge (ESD) for clients who have had a cerebrovascular accident (CVA).
Description of the Project
A stroke can affect people’s functioning, social participation and quality of life. It is important to intervene quickly with sufficient intervention intensity in order to optimize recovery.
An early supported discharge program (ESD) has been set up as a solution so that the person can begin their intensive functional rehabilitation at home, as soon as they return there. It has been shown that telehealth technologies can facilitate the process regarding certain aspects of the ESD program and potentially improve the results!
Participation in a maximum of four meetings (At your home or the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre); and completion of two questionnaires:
- Meeting 1: An interview to assess the usefulness, acceptability and satisfaction with the ESD program.
- Meeting 2-4: Workshops with other participants to discuss the technology used within the ESD program.
Anyone followed in the Early Supported Discharge (ESD) for clients who have had a stroke, or their caregiver.
With your help, we can improve the ESD program. Your feedback will help advance organizational and technological innovations to improve patient-centred care.
By participating you can also contribute to the advancement of science in the field of organizational and technological innovations for the deployment of best patient-oriented practices.
You will receive $20 as compensation for your participation in this research project.
